Carolyn (Sasser) Brown was born and reared in Borger. After graduation from Borger High
School, she completed schooling from Cliff Mann Floral Design School in Denver Colorado. She
then attended Frank Phillips College. In 1964, she enrolled in Northwest Texas School of
Nursing and graduated in 1967 as a Registered Nurse. That same year she married her
childhood sweetheart, Jim Brown. After marriage, she became OB supervisor at Golden Plains
Community Hospital. In 1978, she purchased Hilltop Daycare School and remained
owner/operator until she sold it in 1988. At this time, she began working with Brown's. Jim
died in 2001 of Leukemia. At present she is owner of Brown's Flowers and Brown Funeral
Directors. Jim & Carolyn have a daughter, Abye Hunt, who lives in Denver, Colorado with her
husband, Scott and their son, Samuel.
She states: "Most of us have worked together for many years. We, too, have experienced illness
and losses in our own families. Recalling our own life situations have enabled us to assist our
families in a compassionate, dignified and professional manner. It is simply a matter of caring."
