Alice Moffitt

Alice Moffitt, 70 of Borger, passed away Saturday, March 06, 2010.

Alice was born Sunday, June 4, 1939 in Hall County near Turkey, TX to Lester & Thora (Barker) Baker. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1957 and attended Texas Tech University from 1957 to 1961. She completed Medical Technology internship at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock in January 1962.She married Kay Donovan Moffitt on May 21, 1963 in Muleshoe, TX. Alice graduated from Wayland Baptist University in 1985. She was employed at Golden Plains Community Hospital (North Plains Hospital) in February 1962 and became Lab Manager in 1977 until April 1, 2002. She continued to work part time in the bacteriology department until 2009.

Alice was a member of the First Baptist Church in Borger.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kay Moffitt on December 11, 1993 and her father Lester Baker in 1988.

She is survived by her mother Thora Baker Nieman of the home; brothers Roy Baker and wife Linda of Portales, NM, Larry Baker and wife Lee Ann of Greenville, TX;daughter Sidney Phillips and husband Samuel Smith of Borger; grandchildren Jesse Wohlford of Borger and Carly Phillips of Borger.

The family invites friends to visitation Monday, March 8, 2010 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Brown’s Chapel of the Fountains.
Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Borger with Pastor Steve Taylor officiating and burial at Westlawn Memorial Cemetery following.
