Charley Bass

Charley Bass, 75 of Fritch passed away Sunday, February 14, 2010 at his home.

Charley Dean Bass was born Saturday, November 10, 1934 in Texola, OK to Walter and Lula (Shinn) Bass Sr. He was a retired packing supervisor for J.M. Huber. He married LeDonne Brooks on April 25, 1953 in Sayre, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jack Bass, Bill Bass and D.A. Bass; two sisters, Imogene Dale and Gracie Nell Bass.

He is survived by his wife; son, Todd Bass and wife Mary of Crosbyton, TX; daughter, Rhonda Trammell and husband Ronnie of Midland, TX; three brothers, Harold Bass of Erick, OK, Wayne Bass of Decatur, TX and Bert Bass of Shamrock, TX; one sister, Viola Potts of Lubbock, TX; six grandchildren, Karen Hatfield and husband Darrell of Owasso, OK, Ronnie Trammell Jr. of Lubbock, TX, Katie Trammell of Tyler, TX, Paul Trammell of Tyler, TX, Aaron Bass of Brownwood, TX, Meghan Bass of Crosbyton, TX; one step-great-granddaughter, Sarah Hatfield of Owasso, OK.

Funeral services will be at 10:00AM, Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Fritch, TX with burial to follow at 2:00PM at Texola Cemetery, Texola, OK.

Mr. Bass will lie in state at Brown’s Chapel in Fritch.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund in Fritch or Helping Hands.
