Lennis Grist

Lennis Grist, 82, of Borger, passed away, Thursday, July 14, 2011.

Lennis Larue (Boren) Grist was born Wednesday, March 13, 1929 in Olney, TX to David and Verna Boren.  She married Leon Grist on December 24, 1947 in Pampa, TX.  She was a homemaker and volunteered for Meals On Wheels and the Opportunity Center for over 20 years.  Lennis was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Gary; a sister and a brother.

Survivors include her husband, Leon; two daughters, Marsha Wood and Kim Grist both of Borger, TX; her brother, Dave Boren of Lubbock, TX; three grandchildren, Jeremy Frazier, Bryan Frazier and Dustin Grist; one great grandchild, Brianna Grist; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Stinnett Cemetery in Stinnett, TX with Rev. Leonard Forsythe officiating.

Mrs. Grist will lie in state at Brown Chapel of the Fountains in Borger, TX from 8:00AM to 8:00PM, Saturday, July 16, 2011 and 12:00PM to 6:00PM, Sunday, July 17, 2011.
